Hi

I'm pricing up some brake discs for my Cupra and I torn between getting a set of Piranha and MTec discs in black, I am looking to see if anyone has any reviews on these brake discs as I'm looking for dimpled and grooved one in Black.

Thanks in Advance

not on brembos but I'm on ap racing 4 pots on my ibiza cupra, got the mtec drilled and grooved and there decent, wouldn't say there is a massive difference over standard discs but they look better and do the job for 70 pound, mine arnt black but I'm guessing it could rub off over time

I have the Mtec grooved just fitted three weeks or so ago. They aren't the black ones and the unswept area is already now a lovely rust colour. Seem to work well once bedded in with the new pads though.

The black comes off straight away from the contact area's, but I'm looking at Piranha because the reviews on MTec are that they rust to all over in a matter of weeks and the Piranha come already Treated. I know that you can pay MTec £25 when buying them.

Its really a coin toss but the reviews are putting me off MTec

I had the mtec drilled and grooved and they are great for the price you get less brake fade than the oem discs. However I wouldn't get drilled again though on any brake discs as they started to crack round the drill holes and had a slight warp after 40,000 miles (oem's made it to 60,000 miles)

I've got mtec grooved and dimpled ones on my LCR. Great so far. They don't rust any quicker than any other make of disc. I read that mtec and Piranah discs are made by the same people they are just sprayed black. I almost bought them but I read that the paint can clog up the pads so I didn't bother. Probably more of a problem on rear discs as they don't do much breaking.

I have just fitted the piranha black dimpled and grooved looks pretty good black is already starting to come away. The reason I went for these is once the black goes it leaves the dimples and grooved black. No rush colour and looks pretty good. And the are owned by mtec they came in there packinging. Hope this helps.

Ive got the mtech dimpled and grooved discs in black with brembo pads and 4pots on the front. They look good and the breaking seems more responsive (probably because i had 2 seized callipers before fitting lol) they are i little noisy tho
