Boot release

Guys - anyone experienced problem with the boot release for the new Mk5? The Seat badge should spring back but seems to have broken over the weekend - still opens but no spring! Taking it back to dealer & hope it will be covered by the waranty. Hope this is not one of those re-occuring design faults.

not had the springs go but i do often find that i need to give it two "opens" to open the boot properly, the first, kinda half opens it then i have to open it again to be able to lift the boot hatch

Will more than likely want a release handle.

I just hope its a quick job. First thing that has gone wrong, though number of internal 'sqeaks' i can hear when driving suggests not!

Hi,

Yes!! Mine did exactly that yesterday morning, but was fine again by lunchtime. I think the oil in the damper gets 'thick' overnight when it gets cold.

Will let you know if it does it again
