Boot Gas Struts

Struts arrived from this link and currently sitting in the boot waiting for some clear weather to fit them.
I wonder if this is something worth looking into for a group buy to get a cheaper price for everyone...
Works well. Definitely big difference in trying to close the lid. Anyone suffer from any prolonged issues like locks failing/hairloom torqued from the uprated struts?
My lock failed after around 2 months of fitting, so back to stock now
Anyone know if these work ok for a pre FL MK2? I've read another thread about various problems such as, lock failure, boot warping, not autolifting and needing some scirroco rubber stoppers.

I had them on my MK2 pre fl fr and it opened as it was supposed to but it went up with alot of power and shakes the mounts every time, also you cannot close the boot one handed with the struts on and you need new bumper things like you mentioned. I wouldn't bother personally.
I don't think I will, cheers. I'll stick with a new set of struts that open normally.
Hey there saw these advertised on the Leon mk3 buying & selling group on facebook. Has anybody used them before? Are they specialized struts or have they just slipped some springs on them? These were recommended to a user for a leon st which i also have. And need to replace my struts as the barely open the boot.

@Spuddy01...I got some of those boot struts with springs on quite a while ago, they work very well.

@Deano j1971 Thanks for the quick reply & just my luck they had none in stock so ordered the Stabilus struts mentioned earlier in this thread for the octavia so hope they do the job.

Long story short Alex, ordered the stabilus struts as the one's I linked to we're out of stock but turns out they were for a Hatchback not estate so have ordered & awaiting delivery of the struts I linked to & hopefully they do the job. Will update here once fitted.
