i seem to be having a slight boost issue:help:

when i start the lcr and drive it for, around the first 45 mins-1 hour all is good i have a great whistling noise as the turbo spools up and great boost not to mention the great noise from my turbo smart dv.

but then after this time has passed it seems to not boost nearly as well and you cant hardley hear the turbo spooling and very little whoosh from the dv?

any help would be great guys.

cheers.jamie.

I would check/replace lots of vacuum/boost hoses as it sound as though this maybe the problem, having said that you claim big big bhp for map stage
Outlet pipe or any hose expanding due to heat causing a slight leak??

What are you running in terms of Intake setup? Could be a heat soak problem if your using a poor air feed to a cone filter i always notice a more eager power sensation when the car is cold? I must be heat related is your temp ok! Fan Sensor? If you have a forge TIP i cant see it being the callapse problem! Maybe a boost leak somewhere worth checking all boost hose clamps are tight!

Now youve rectified a fault you can always try resettling to see if that helps
Disconnect -ve to battery for 15 mins or so
Remember radio code too

just a quick update on the boost problem,

i went over to friends house earlier which is about half hours drive away and the car drove great and boosted properley,

i stayed there for around 2 hors and when i came to drive home the boost had more or less gone again has it has been doing?

its very inntermitant and is realy starting to confuse me now iv replaced any split hoses and tightned all the clampe/clips up so i dont think theres a leak.

any more ideas guys pleeeeeeease.

cheers.

I've got a similar problem on a LC (not R and not remapped). Mine's a bit less time dependant though as the boost will just drop off completely at any stage in a journey. What happens with mine though is that if I stop the engine and re-start straight away the boost is back to full again no problem. That makes me think it's not temperature but is more likely electronics (sensors / ECU etc).

Does switching yours off and on again cure it or is it still lacking boost when it comes back on? If that is the case then it does sound temperature related doesn't it.

I've not tried disconnecting the battery on mine though, will do that tonight.
