Is there any way to display boost information on the computer of the LCR on the dials.....

If not are there any good analogue boost gauges out their that fit in the LCR snug??

Pics would be handy if anyone has them too :)

there are two types from what i can gather (i've got a boost gauge on my wish list!) you've got a mechanical type that has vacuum pipes running from the back of the gauge down to the engine, most people tap into the pipe running from the top of the D/V with a T piece, then all you need to do is tap into the wiring for the dashboard lights for the gauge lights up. then secondly there is the electrical type of boost gauge, i know nothing about these or how they are wired up or where the get the signal from to show how much boost you're running but i'm assuming that because there are no moving parts as such that the are more accurate than mechanical gauges.

ah ok mate...may try get one in about 6 months an electric one......

As for D/V while you seem to know what your on about...are there any benifits from fitting one in terms of performance and also whats the difference betwwen a normal one and a return value one.....do they both make that trade mark PHHHHHHSSHH sound or can you get different ones that change in loudness.....i.e. quieter ones...

Thanks for your pateince mate, but i am new to this game and will be here for a while so any knowledge i gain will be a benifit to the new comers in a few years time :)

i was a newbie to forced induction until march this year, to save you getting a "do a search, yawn" response i'll tell you now, on the VAG 1.8T motors D/V doesn't stand for dump valve it stands for diverter valve. atmospheric valves dont work on these engines as the excess boost goes back into the intake via the turbo intake pipe between the airbox and turbo. there are hybrid valves available that are both recirculating and atmospheric but from what i've read these still throw up faults. you have a D/V as standard but it is a plastic bosch version and from reading you're previous posts t won't be long before you start modding and the original valve tends to split if you up the boost. i've done a few mods to my LCR that i thought would be better to do before i get mine remapped (coming soon hopefully) i've got a forge 007p D/V, forge silicone TIP (turbo intake pipe) and forge top intercooler silicone pipes plus a raid/ramair induction kit. with all this fitted it sort of sounds like an atmospheric D/V anyway
