Who can help me here.
I've spent countless hours Googling this now, to no avail.

Cable from gauge to car has 5 wires, instructions say 4....
What's the 5th (brown/orange) for???

AND
any clues how I could wore this into the Leon around the light control wiring?

Might best asking in the right section ;)

haha. I figured "boost reading=diagnostic". Long shot I know.

mod? Move please to wherever you see fit?

...in the meantime it should pop up in "NEw Posts" so... has anybody wired in a boost gauge at all on an MK2?

Have you spoken to the companythat sold it to you?

Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2

got it off a forum member. He hasn't been on since Nov 2012.

I just found some instructions that may work on Leons too, as it's intended for an Audi A3. With a little luck the wiring is the same

Success!!
The "extra" wire is an output. Nonidea what that means but apparently the little gauge can do more than the instructions give away. So, ignore.

I think I've got it now

Once I knew "output" google searches revealed all.

Basically it's a pile of poop. Not even the gauge manufacturer (OMORI) knows what the wire is for. It does nothing. That's the brown wire. Much discussed on scooby forums.

I'm gonna put it in the driver side vent. I got the bezel and kit off CupraRob last year.

Tried getting the vent out today with no luck.

Also going to just get SEDOX to put the tap in the intercooler pipe for me as I can't be arsed.

I might trial it for a while with a small cheap 42mm pod before I get it in the vent

It's been a while since I put my gauges in but I was going to hazard a guess on the wires.

An earth for illumination and the operation of the motor. A positive for the backlight. Two inputs for the values of the boost. One for the minus direction and one for the positive direction.

On an OMORI boost gauge with stepper motor it's:

- red : ignition (switched live)
- black : ground
- green : permanent live
- white : 12v+ light
- brown : unused (this was the big mystery)

Following from that...

- Red connects to fuse #42 in the right hidden fuse box
- black connects to brown wire #5 on the back of the dimmer switch
- white connects to grey/blue wire #6 in back of dimmer switch
- green can go to fuse #42...but then needle won't go back to 0 when you turn the engine off. So I'm trying to find a permanent live in the car now. Might route it to the place robthebubble uses for his DRLs
