Boost gauge fitting guide

OK so here is abit of a guide to fitting a boost gauge- i could not find a direct guide on here- so mumbled my way through and took pictures at various stages- hope it helps people- 1.8t engine

so first off i removed headlight switch/surround- as i used the switch wiring to power up the gauge-

the screws holding the panels on are pretty obvious to find-

unclipped fuseboard cover for access- plus id later run the wiring up through the loom

i then soldered the boost gauge power loom into headlamp rotary switch loom- i wired it so it would be white during day and red when sidelights activated- i have it written down if anyone rqs it.

my next issue was i could not for the life of me find a way to get through or find a rubber grommit to push wiring through into engine bay- but the n/s was fairly easy to get to- soooooo i exstended the loom provided- (soldered/heat shrink) and ran it down back of dash board- this was a hassle but only as daylight was nearly gone [:@]

removed end of n/s dasshboard to route loom and glovebox lid for access.

picture of loom routed through bulkhead- i used a braising rod to get through rubber grommits- once again a pain!:censored:

i then began routing vac pipe for boost gauge reciever- easy bit!

Nice guide :) only thing i would say is if you ever want to fit amps run the vacuum hose through the drivers side, as a 4 gauge cable will just fit on its own!
And if any one wants to fit a gauge in the air vent under where MJseatcupra has fitted his let me know' ill get a small guide up!
