I've been quoted £90 inc vat for my first service at Hobins...find that good value...may purchase my own oil tho to see if they can do it cheaper...fancy some of that Magnetec
Going briefly offtopic here....

Do you mean for your TDI ?
It's essential to use the right spec oil for PDs - I don't *think* Magnetec is. Have a read through the other oil threads though, this is a discussion for another thread ;)

Had the test drive

Well what can I say? I drove the FR TDI today, albeit pre-facelift.
The guys from David Cook chadderton give me the keys and basicaly said, go enjoy it mate!
So I did ;)
I loved the car. Right from the minute I sat in it, i felt comfy and I think it's a great driving position.
I was a bit woried about the lightness of the steering BEFORE I got a drive and if the dash looked basic, both worries were forgot about as soon as I was in the thing, as the steering was weighted perfectly and the layout looked great.

I took it down the bypass in Oldham. Couldnt stop smiling when the acceleration kicked in (my 206 is 75hp and about 0.00000002nm torque) and the mini cooper s trying to nail it got a nice suprise haha.

Then I hit the brakes which to me were really impressive (my pug has CD sized front solid, non abs brakes :headhurt: ) then I got it onto the motorway to ashton to get the feel of motorway driving in the 6 gears, and a chance to properly boot it (up to 73mph of course...)

Took it back after about 40 mins driving and loved it!
The guys then unlocked downstairs garage where there was a PDI'd facelift in silver, that they let me get in, Ive never seen one in North Manchester close up and I love the thing. Wow!

All in all, a fantastic car that I felt right at home behind the wheel that suits my driving style, my taste, my insurance and my pocket! just gonna test a petrol one next week, but Ive always wanted a petrol, and it's cheaper. Loved the TDI performance though! What a car, I want one now! :D :D :D :D :D

.........................then I got back into my 206 petrol waiting for the boost to kick in  and nearly overshooting a turn with the crappy brakes

the diesel will drive completly different to the petrol, so I'd personally test drive the ENGINE you want. Saying that, once you drove the diesel, you might like it :p

exactly what i was going to say:lol:

don't forget how cheap tax is on a derv too , o and pound for pound a simple remap on those things make it truly awesome

Buy the diesel. Love the wave of torque, knowing you can hammer it and still get over 40mpg+. It's good for the pocket and damn good for the grin :D

Did you try the silver 3 door Ibiza FR TDI they have..? If so, that's the one I test drove before driving the Leon.. and I very nearly bought it. Bloody brilliant fun! I will be biased as a VERY happy David Cook customer but you get what you pay for with them, give them your dough!

S8N yeah it was the prefacelift silver tdi FR I went out in. great car! I think the arch gap deffo looks better with the 17's even if it's still quite big, but i wouldnt ever have coilovers again unless i could get the feel first after having spax on the 206!

Rash- looking forward to the petrol mate. Im not bothered about fuel eco and like the cheaper list price too. -and the sound :)

Rash, not that money isnt an option, i just dont do many miles. I'd love the cupra, but its gotta be financed and its too expensive :( also, the insurance for the cupra was too dear compared to the FR, even thought about a used cupra, but its just the insurance in M9 mate, otherwise, id snap one up for sure
