The Bocanegra (Nope not a Cupra with a paint job) :p

Is at the Dealers and has been disembowel'd by the technicians, the gear box is now in bits and the twin clutches are apart and parts are ordered today. Looks like they have done their homework and possibly have worked out what the rattling is. They are ordering all the additional parts for that and the turbo so hopefully things are looking up.

I am now the proud temporary owner of an Altea XL and have to say these words

I really like driving it..................... there its said and done. Will update as the job progresses so us rattly gearbox owners may have something to suggest to their dealers.

I am trying to be all sunshine and positive:D

Anything can be taken apart with enough force. Mazda say rotarys dont but they do! Just dont go back together very well.

Well maybe they are learning something. Master Tech told me the above when he rang me today. Knows Im a bit of a car geek mentioned he has had to order specialist tools to do the job and hopefully things are progressing.

There is so much hear say and rumours surrounding the gear boxes on here and other forums. He seems pretty switched on and knows his stuff will leave him to it.

The clutch etc on our gearboxes is in the dry side of the gearbox so you can get to all that without opening the high pressure side.
