Looking good mate. Love the badge.

How did you go about spraying it? Did you mask of the 'S' and spray the background?

I'd like to do the same.

Cheers.

Thanks :)

I took the badge apart and sprayed individual bits, sprayed the actual 's' first then the green bits in the 's' come out and I sprayed them then I sprayed the outside edge. Wasn't two difficult, took some of the paint off when I put it back together but nothing a touch up stick won't sort lol

Number 2 or number 3 I reckon mate,
Number two was the idea I was gonna suggest to you, but 3 is something a bit different and it works. Having both badge and inserts green loses the effect of both. Try having the inserts and just the diagonal inserts of the badge green, less is more.

Have lowered the front a bit and dropped the back completely. Still got the adjusters in the back thou lol. Really really need spacers now lol. They will be bought soon lol.

I also seem to have something missing but can't think what it is lol

You need to get pics up of the back completely dropped! Told you you'd wanna get spacers :p

Lol at the grille, I had to drive around like that when I took mine off to do the frame. Got the weirdest looks off people.

Well it was eventful when I was adjusting the suspension lol. First the car tried to fall off the jack but I managed to save it with lightning speed reflexes lol. Then when I got both front coilovers adjusted to the same height, I had a little voice in my head telling me I had made it higher and not lower lmao. I then wound the coilovers up instead of down then realised I was being an idiot so had to wind them down again, finally got them to the same height. Whilst both front wheels were off I decided to take the front mud guards off. I then proceeded to the back and found that for some reason, one side had about 7 threads until it was at the bottom and the other had barely 2 threads lol. They are both now wound down completely :). Also took the rear mud guards off :) then when all four wheels were back on the ground I noticed that I hadn't seated one of the rear springs properly, so I jacked that side up again and put the spring in the right place :) when I took the jack out I noticed I really need to get some spacers lol. Just need to try and figure out what size lol. After all the palaver with the suspension I decided to take the front grill of for spraying :) have been driving around town with kids giving me strange looks lol. One of my mates saw my car parked up in town and called me coz he thought someone had stolen the grill lol. I will get pics tomoz, front doesnt look any lower but im being careful not to adjust it to much invade it settles to much and I can't get anywhere lol.

Ah I quite liked the mud flaps.

Sounds like you had fun lowering it lol!

Funny you say that about your mate and the grille. When I did mine, I went to my Mums, I got there and I walked in and said 'Mum! Someones stolen my grille!' she was like 'WHAT?! OH MY GOD!!' haha, gave her a shock when she saw the big gaping hole too.

She was ok once I told it was back at home

10mm spacers would be a good start.

Small update:

Well after my little incident last night. I had a look today and it seems the only damage is to a plastic bit under the car, not quite sure what it actually is but it's just split it so it isn't any major damage :)

Some of you many or noticed that I took my wind deflectors off the car a while back. These were taken off because I had managed to scratch them and I couldn't stand them being on with the scratches lol. Today I came across them in the garage and thought I would attempt to get rid of the scratches by using the cleaning products that I have. The one that worked the best was megs ultimate compound, I had to work at it a few times and quite harshly but it got the major scratches out so they went back on the car today.

The front grill is being painted, AGAIN! I was just about to put the 's' back in the grill then put it on the car but that's when my dog jumped up at me and knocked me into the kitchen door, at which point the grill hit the door handle which resulted in the paint coming off slightly :( I have now rubbed it down again and started again. Will be on soon hopefully :)

Bloody dog indeed lol.

I could of just touched it up but before I realised that, I had already started sanding down again lol. I'm glad about the damage coz I thought I had ripped something off at first. YAY! You need to get them fitted ASAP. I'm paying £100 for mine.

Wow thats a really good price!

The best I got was £189 but i'm gonna ask a local garage that my parents and brother take their car to as I'm thinking it might be cheaper and they are reliable.

Yeah, it was a mate who did it, he did originally say £125 but it talked him down to £100 if I hand out some business cards/stickers. I never even asked a proper garage although my mate does have his own business (DD's custom autos). Looking forward to seeing your car lower :) will be able to compare height at gti international :)

Cars looking great now its wound down some more :) Sorry to hear about the damage. Would you say its worth having a garage fit the coils or would you of rather have done it yourself?

Thanks mate. Yeah the damage isn't bad at all tbh, will have a proper look when the car is up on the ramps on friday. I would say to get a garage to do it unless your really confident you could do it. It took my mate nearly 6 hours coz he was having a lot of trouble. He thought it would take 2-3 hours at first. I don't mind winding them down or up but I wouldn't try to put them on myself lol.
