Well the lights are back in and everything works, the LED sidelights and xenons look awesome, even in the daytime! I went up to Star to get a hand removing the front bumper and me and Brian hooked up the lights - we all stood back and went WOW!
They look very good indeed, unless I am mistaken we haven;t seen a daytime shot with lights off??? just how the car looks with the black angel eyes in?.
looks very good though mate.
If I were you I'd buy five sets of each of the lights, now you know what you are doing and modify them and flog them for muchos £££.......... although i'm sure after the hard work you put in you want a unique car for a while.
One other question though, you baked in the oven, softened the glue and pulled them apart......how did you reseal? Heat the seal with a hot air gun ?? new seal ??
I taped up the lights as tight as I could then ran a heatgun round the seals to soften them up, once cold I ran a thin bead of black silicone round the outside edge just to make sure. You only need to warm them up, not get them boiling hot to do this stuff.
I got alot of inspiration from a guy called 'haknslash' on the SRT-4 forums in the USA, in the 'lighting modification' section.
I can't help feeling that much of the lighting effect will be lost in the chrome ones due to the amount of reflected light bouncing around inside the headlight. Would still look cool though, may look better on a lighter car such as silver.
