Yeah at least the garage are getting onto it, I assume it had warranty? These things happen, I just forked out £3500 a few months back fitting a recon engine. I might get a horse and cart! Mind you then the sodding horse will need feeding, shoes , vets bills, mind you I could claw some cost back selling him to Tesco for beef lasagne !!

Ha ha ha yeah under warranty BUT SEAT are trying to be smart ass with me it's over due a survive that I'm not doing as I said why pay for a service and them you could land up puting a new engine in Iv spent loads of money on oil
They fobbed me of the first time saying oil was spitting to much in to the turbo
Loads of thing keep happing with the car if it's not the oil it the little light (!) looks little like that )for the wheels that keep coming on where u press he button near the gear box

HA ha

yes, all the time, occupational hazzard - you never know where your emails are going to turn up, and sometimes they get taken out of context, or need a bit of extra follow up to complete the picture. Plus, its interesting to see what discussions are going on too.

:D

Cheers

i use 5w 30 on mine 2.0 FR TDI, not a specific brand and i do change oil, filter and the corc after 15000 km (24000 miles).

every 2nd she gets a 30k km(48k miles) big service.

Ha hi Andy lol, no I occasionally get a bit OCD on these things, tend to over analyse, like you say won't make any noticeable odds odds but at least now I feel I'm well informed and from a reliable source, just thought it was an interesting convo in case any other sad dicks are about? Also what oil is best for a 1989 vw lt 2.4td Florida? "Jokes" actually jokes aside I had top end noise on the LT switched from 10w to 5w fully synth and the tapping completely vanished so kind of makes you realise the importance of oil grade :) I'm off to the nurburgring in a few months as a dare to take the old Florida westfalia around!! Should be a laugh probably loose all the oil mind ha ha, I'm aiming for under twenty mins? 0-60 sometimes!

Andy I do have to confess I don't always really use castrol :( though I do for the majority. but I have to say the castrol products are marketed superbly Andy! I mean "magna tech" "Fluid strength technology" it almost has me convinced :) it really does create an allure which the other products lack.

But no I am now fully decided on 5w40 505.01  I think I was just over analytical because I suffered a recent engine failure, it wasn't related to oil though. I had an issue which I ignored on the DSG auto box which maxed the engine out down the motorway. But thanx again for your help appreciate it.
