It should do mate, it can be easily turned off and on using VAG COM, you can make lights flash and also an audible beep

Dagnamit. How the hell do I sort this then!

Down to a dealer or a friendly sole with VAG-COM. Dealer will probably charge you a few £, whereas someone local with VAG-COM "might" do it for free...

Check that all your doors lock and unlock as they should. If one of the doors doesn't lock correctly the lights don't flash. One of my rear doors occasionally doesn't lock with all the others, and I know when this has happened as the lights don't flash.

All doors lock! My car has an approved used warranty so I might just get them to sort it. It's going in on Monday for a fan problem anyway.

Just in my experience if you can sort something out without going to the stealer you are generally a lot better off! :D

Oooooo, I think I'll get the audible beep turned on. I miss that from my ol' Golf.

Mine's going to the stealer in a couple of weeks. I'll ask them about the convenience module.

I had my audible beep turned on last night at the stealers. Beeps twice when you unlock it, once when you lock it.

My lights refuse to flash though!! Stealer is investigating it next week when my LCR goes in AGAIN!

Did it cost anything to get the beeps done?

I think I'm a bit obsessive compulsive, the number of times I've locked and re-locked the car because I didn't see the lights flash.

BTW, on the subject of door locking, I think parts of the owners manual are written in Spanglish. It says something about pressing the lock button twice in quick succession to deadlock it. The way it is written, I've never worked out if one press or two presses is the most secure. I've always assumed two is best.

Just one of those things that I've never remembered to ask the stealer when I go there.

Quick update - I am now a beeper! Got it done for free whilst having new fans fitted on Friday.

Nextdoor neighbour said "that's a bit annoying isn't it? Can't you get it turned off?"
