My car got a hammering from seagulls on fri. When i came to wash it off on sat it had baked into the paint work. And now i have the stains all over the roof of my car. Is there any thing or product i can use to to restore the paint work.

Try asking in the car cleaning section rather than the Leon Mk1 and you might get more replies.

I use mer on seagull poo I know its not good to use but it does do the trick... I live in cornwall and my cars always gettin shi*tted on.. Its a pain...

To remove bird poo etching, using a clay bar, and then a light polish.
In most situations this will sort the problem.

I've never really had much luck removing the 'crazing' caused by bird muck from my black paint. It seems to go straight through.

I removed a stack of it from my folks catr (they'd left it on there for a while) the other week and it actually seems to have blistered the paintwork!
