Better aerial for radio reception?

Hi Guys,

I just fitted a new CD player to the car.

Works great and well happy. Its an RNS510 style (not an actual one) double din.

Since fitting my radio reception has been terrible.

I have a stubby aerial which has always made it worse.

On the aerial adaptor at the back of the CD player there is a blue wire with connector. I assume this is a booster of some sort that needs to be wired in?
I havent a clue where to wire it in and quite frankly do not want to mess around with electrics.

My question, do i need to get this wired in the better my reception or would a better aerial help? if so which one?

Thanks! :)

That is the aerial amplifier, you'll need to splice that into the remote wire to give it 12v when the stereo gets turned on. That should bring the reception back in line to what it was previously. :)

Next question is, what is the remote wire.

There is a label tab on the blue aerial wire that say "auto antenna" i guess that is the right one.

Would like to get this sorted anyway. I dont mind the radio every now and then.

Nah, i have the GPS antenna already.

From what i gathered its the wire for a 12v feed to boost the aerial (i think haha).

It does what it says ;-) feeds an electric ariel to make it go up and down :D
These days it would be used to trigger a power amp on or a aftermarket blue tooth kit or anything that needs to come on at the same time as the stereo :)

So your correct you need to connect the one from your stereo to the one on your ariel :)
