Hi

so originally i wanted to change the headunit in the cupra but i think the sounds quality is adequate, i dont make cd's as i use my iphone.

question is i bought a cassette converter for the cassette unit and although it works the quality is damn awful with distortion.

Whats the best way / device to play your mp3 / iphone through your cars cassette or audio system?

thanks

I've had some trouble with cassette adaptors, but they do work quite well and in my humble opinion they're better than some FM transmitters. I got my last one from Maplin and paid a bit more for it, it worked really well. The same adaptor from poundland was poor to say the least, but I expected it to not work very well.

What sort of distortion are you hearing? If you're hearing 'clipping' then the volume of your iphone is turned up too high. Turn the iphone volume down and turn the head unit volume up. As a guide, my MP3 player used to be on about 3 out of 10 to play well.

Conversely, if you're hearing more hiss than music, the iphone is too quiet.
