Hi guys apart from picking up my new 04 cupra r next saturday which i parted with my loved s2k, I've always been a bit of a modder so my questions are what do you people think is the best way along the route. Should i get a exhaust filter first before remap, Is a nice dumpvavle worth the money ? and finally which suspension is most thought of as im new to this scene.

dump valve - yup as the standard one is rubbish.
I would get the exhaust, air filter and poss even an FMIC before you get a map. I would go for the custom map (jabba, CC etc) over a generic map as well..

Do some subtle mods first, get used to the car and figure out all its niggles. You'll love the power as std to start off with, especially coming from a revy low torque honda. ( still rapid though!!)

I personally wouldn't recommend the exhaust as its a lot of cash for little bhp gain, mostly looks and noise! Remap, filter, recirc dump valve (1.8T doesn't like the wooshy ones), susp, arbs are all worth it though.

Front Mounted Inter Cooler "Forge" is a big hit with most on that idea...

as for the dump valve pick up a Forge 007

Filters i think other LCR owners have their prefences but a BMC carbon intake or a Carbonio CAI is good also.

Exhaust... again preference, many out there from blueflame to Milltek and others.... also budget as it can get expensive

i love tinkering with my car :) Think the susp need doing as it seem floaty but thats probably me and being used to the s2k. What susp do you recommend then ? springs full set up or coilovers.

first things first, atmospheric valves don't work on these engines. on mine i've got a forge 007p valve, forge TIP (turbo intake pipe) ramair/raid induction and forge top intercooler hoses. to be honest with all that fitted the valvle doesn't sound too different to an atmospheric valve anyway. i'm getting mine re-mapped next, i'd have it done by now but i had to replace the front discs and pads so it'll have to wait until the new year.

Hi Paul ;)

I'd get the Forge DV and then live with the car for a bit. It's very different to drive when you're coming from NA Jap cars, so get used to the way it drives and what you need to do to get the best out of it. Then work out what you'd like to change and go for it :D

short shift is worth the £££'s and good fun. if doing the dog bone mount i'd go for the whole thing rather than just the bushes - just the bushes has done nothing on my LC other than generate a humming noise in low gears.
