This came up a while back when I asked the Q .

Basically you should top up using the same stuff as before. Fully synth is needed, and I know people seem to swear by Mobil1 or Castrol.

My last oil change was using Castrol SLX 0W/30 fully synth. Hope this helps/

Just dug out the invoice - for the change of oil it cost £37 back in December. I am not sure how much it is in shops as that was SEAT price for the full change.

Hopefully someone else can reply to the thread and shed some more light on a retail cost instead of a SEAT cost.

But I have noticed people use different concentrations such as 5W but TBH I am not up to speed with what the differences between these are and why different ones are used. All I know is I plan to top up with the Castrol OW/30 in the very near future for my LCR. :)

If you are member of costco you can get some Mobil 1 fully syn oil for £23.00 incl vat. Thats extremely cheap. However, it comes in a 4 litre bottle but will do as a top up as you'll probably only need a 1 litre max..

As others have mentioned, find out what was used before and use the same oil. If in doubt, do a quick oil change.
