I havent really ever looked into what mpg i do until recently to be honest and it doesnt bother me that much! I mean i know that my car uses petrol quickly as its a fast car and thats just the way it is

Saying that now i have been looking at it i have noticed i have got 34mpg on average and if i can get 40mpg then thats good

I doubt i will get 50+mpg as i dont have the patience to sit at 47mph on a motorway

54.2!!!!!! there is no way on gods earth my car would ever come close to doing that. Best I've ever got on a run trying to stick at 60-70 is 39mpg. I've never averaged over 40 no matter what speed I've stuck to so I'm amazed how you've managed it. You sure you don't have a 1.1 under the bonnet?

I tend to average 34mpg on a motorway run sticking between 70-80 and 60 on A roads. Road town or short journeys I'm lucky to break 30, usually comes in around 28.

Can I ask how much fuel you used and the distance you travelled?

I know!! I'm not doubting his claims, well actually I am cos I'm sure it's not physically possible for my car to get anywhere near that figure

How many miles do you normally get per tank? What petrol do you normally use?

Say I put £45 in to fill it I'd get around 350 miles on a run using either Optimax or BP Ultimate. Find I get best MPG on Optimax but can't allways get it so drop onto Ultimate or if I'm feeling tight Sainsburys super.

I never run it on normal 95 ron unleaded

I sit on the motorway at 70 on the cruise getting 40mpg a lot of the time, I do get frustrated at 1.1 festers overtaking

now I show them my right foot in the window as they go past and it makes me feel beter....
