Best all round tyre for Cupra R

Guys,

Forgive me. I am sure tis has been asked many a time. I would normally search but I have my 9mth old little boy trying to grab my breakfast at the same time.

My sisters LCR has Pirelli PZERO Nero's on at present but want to change them.
What s the best all round tyre for wear rate,grip & price?

I was going to suggest to her some Yokohama's as I use 048's for summer and Parada's for winter/spring on my Impreza STi but there different cars.

What are Brigdestones like on the LCR? Any model to recommend?

yeah, yoko's will be okay on slower cars such as the sti, but you're better off with decent rubber on something as "hot" as a cupra R mate. only kidding, best all rounder probably is the goodyear but a lot of people on here have been very impressed with falken fk 452's and are only about 75 quid a tyre fitted, i'm running these at the moment and they're very good, if your sister doesn't go mental in her car these are a good buy, if money were no object then i'd go for the goodyears. i dont know anyone with bridgestones on.

TBH mate there is not a good all year round tyre for any car
I've been using the Good Year Eagle GSD3's for 3 ish years and can't fault them but in the winter they are hopeless, this is the same with any summer tyre. I've fitted Michelin Alpin PA2 winter tyres this year, they are fantastic
Good Year have brought out a new tyre this year that is assymetric, won all the magazine reviews

Thanks for the input guys. I've just spoken to my sister on the hpone and she passed me straight over to my brother inlaw.

He said he isn't sure on the Falken 452's. I haven't used them so wouldn't know. Found a site that is doing them for £57.70 PER TYRE. My tyres is doing them for approx £84.50.

Jamie Paton you cheeky swine. lol My car slow.I can't argue with the 342bhp / 338lbft at present. lol A couple of friends cars are 343/343 and 350/350. My other mate has a 504hp Impreza. Swines.

got toyo proxies on all round - very very pleased with them in all conditions

£112 fitted per tyre for me, was the cheapest kwikfit had for my car!

I've got the SP9000's on the front of mine at the mo, and Avon ZZ3's on the rear.

Both are pretty good to be honest, and have lasted about 15k, and have still got 3-4mm tread left on them

v good in the wet or dry... however dont get snow or proper winters down here ... id imagine they`d not be ideal on snow.

Eagle F1 GSD3s are absolutely useless in the snow!

Had some snow when I was visiting my 'rents over Christmas...was a ESP/TCS/ABS fest! Brake pedal was vibrating like mad with the ABS working overtime to stop me sliding at junctions. Was not impressed.

However, in all other weather conditions they are great.

Got the falken FK452's on mine at the moment (after 3 sets of F1 GSD3's), and I'm finding them to be pretty comparable, without the stupid wear rate/wear problems of the F1's.

Given the price for the tyres alone on falken's website, they are really really a good deal at the moment.

Certainly wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I had Goodyears all round just after i got my LCR, was impressed but couldnt tell what actual difference they made, still... never had any problems.
Then got the Falkens all round simply because i was hard on cash, again VERY impressed. i'd say an unbeatable replacement for the price.
Now i'm torn... new tyres needed on the front, stick with the Falkens or get the new Goodyears, money isnt an option now but are they really worth it? I'm thinking about some Toyos now as they seem quite highly regarded. hmmmmmm

I have had a lot of high performance cars over the last 10 years and can honestly say Good year eagle F1's are about the best you can get for a sensible price and for alround performance both in wear and grip.

Avons are generally useless but gave a progressive breakaway -

Falkens are somewhat worse but were half the price when I was feeling poor before christmas... but they made my clio 182 half as good.

Pirelli were OK

Michelin tyres were OK

Toyo T1-S are superb tyres but I am told the T1- R is not as good.

The F1 is just great- but I have found GSD 3's are not as good as the GSD 1's - the angle of the tread is different and they just didn't seem to give as much grip in my opinion.
