Battery

Hi,
I'm new and would like to ask a question?
Just bought my LCR a month ago and had timing belt,water pump and full service done,all is well but lately my battery keeps running flat?
I've noticed when i switch the engine off there is a buzz of sort coming from a small cylindrical part above the fan.
Could someone please tell me what that part does,is it normal and is it contributing to my flat battery?
Any advise would be appreciated...

auxillary water pump runs on for a while after turn off to cool motor/turbo down.
1 how long's it running for
2 get battery,charge rate test and checked for current drain. Normally radio at fault or comfor convenience control unit

Thanks I'll have battery charge tested tomorrow,I'll see if that throws any answers. it runs about 5-10 min not sure exactly.
