Hi all,
Just looking for some advice really. At present I am having to change the battery in my remote key fob roughly once a month and it is beginning to annoy me as with 2 children 3 and under, it's basically a pain when we are trying to get in.
Is there something wrong with my fob/system etc? If so what can I do???? I now keep a spare battery in my glove box just in case!
Ta very much!

I'd say that there was a fault - my battery has been in from new 4 years and 40k miles ago.

Fob not sitting in a bag or pocket so that buttons are being pressed continually??? Mine though just sits in a pocket with all the other detritus with no problem.

Have you got two keys (not all did have) and do they do the same?? Presume you didn't have a job lot of dodgy batteries......

When I had a Golf Mk.V (which I think has the same remote fob), the battery lasted as long as I had the car, which was just over 3 years. Something's not right with yours.

Hmmm....this is what I thought as with my last car I only had to replace it once in 5 years. Any ideas anyone????

My key normally goes on the side at home or in my coat pocket or bag when out. I have bought 3 different 'brands' of batteries from 3 different places and they don't last much longer than a month so don't think it is a dodgy batch.

My hubby says it's a good job I love my car as it has been nothing but trouble since the day I bought it. Spends more time at the garage than with me. Going in for a new water pump soon to accompany it's brand new shiney radiator :eek:S

Ta,
