UPDATE 28/12/2016

The noise has returned! It appears as though a lower control arm has broken again.

It happens when I accelerate, brake or go over a bump. Absolutely fuming.

With my minimal knowledge of cars the reason control arms break is to do with the bushings and ball joints?Insist on them replacing all major components on whichever side it's happening on. Refuse to drive the car as when control arms break it can be dangerous can't it? Hope you find a fix soon .

The last time this happened it knocked the wheel alignment for six. The wheel would rag itself sideways randomly, so yep, it can be dangerous.

Now that it's happened twice if it were me I'd land them with the car and tell them give you a call when it's done. All those components will need replacing . There has to be a reason why the control arms are breaking like that.

Aye. Well I'm booked in for the 4th Jan anyway, so I'll drop it off with them and have them sort it out. I love the car, I really do, but this issue is grinding me down.

Hi mate. what happened after your last trip to the dealers? have they sorted it and was it the lower control arm again or something else? Mine has started to experience this more and more recently, again under harder acceleration / sudden deceleration like yours. My car has been dialled up to stage 1 and don't want to give the garage that excuse as it started before i had it remapped, so may need to take it back to stock before i head down to the dealer.
