B&M Short Shift Kit

Have anyone got this kit on your car? What are they like?

I'll let you know when I can be bothered to fit mine. they only work properly when the cable mechanism is operating sweetly, otherwise it just exagerates a problem

Is the 16v different to the 8v gearbox ? (cable change, rod change) as on the 8v AGG you can just shorten one of the selector arms on top of the box. I've seen this done on a lads golfs and all they did was cut a small piece out and re weld it. It halfed the throw length!
If you've got some spare time and a grinder and welder your set

not quite the same mod on the ibiza box for some reason,i had a golf one and it wouldn't select reverse or 1st.there is one available for the rod change from autotechnic in southampton,worked a treat on my 1.816v

It wont fit a 6k Ibiza unfortunetly - looks completly different to the one I have here.

His car is in the garage at the moment but if hes at a local meet 2moro night i'll be sure to try and get a picture for you. May take me a day or 2 afterwards to upload it though but ill get there hopefully

My short shift came this morning, me and mat fitted it today (cheers mate for the hand).

If you hate the long throws on the cupra/gti then get this kit! The throws are so much short now and feel much better when changing gears.

Only problem I found was that when selecting reverse you don't feel it going down much when you push down on the gear knob and it doesn't spring back by itself any more but that's something thats easy to live with.

glad its working o.k mate.was a bit of pain trying to get the pivot out and back in,defo a two man job!.im gunna get me one for sure.
