Azalia red Leon

Does anyone have a picture of an Azalia/Azelia (not sure how its spelt) red mk1 Leon? I've done the google and yahoo picture searches but nothing turns up.

My Leon needs some paint and its a metallic pink (darkish) colour but I am not sure what its is called. I heard that Azalia was only available on some very early Leon's before being discontinued and mines a 2000 'W' so wondered if this is it?

Does anyone have a list of Leon paint codes and which code on the label on the boot floor is for paint?

did you buy the car from new, if so it should have the paint code on the receipt for the car

When the Leon first came out it was available in two metallic reds: Bilberry which was a darkish maroon or burgundy, and Azalea which was a brighter, lighter red.

I think the car in the link above might be Sovereign red which was introduced later. Could be wrong though.

Azalea Red was "pinkish", and I think "W" reg was possibly the last of them.

I read the honest john review a couple of days ago and saw the piccy on the right. He describes his purchase as lipstic pink so I'm not sure if it is Azalia red or not. It's the closest colour match picture that I've come across but I was hoping for a better bigger picture, perhaps from a different aspect.

The paint is quite pinkish so based on your posts I think that it must be Azalia. I've only had the car a couple of weeks and as my signature intimates I've quite a bit of work to do. I hope the paint is not expensive given that it was not in production for long.

Have you looked in the boot of the car or in your service manual? The paint code is on a sticker on the boot floor, so lift up the carpet and take a peek. It's also sometimes on a sticker at the front of the service guide.

Here are some pictures of mine, I dont have the paintcode as I am onot at work in the car today but can check this evening.
A word of warning though the paint is a nightmare its 3 stage pearlescent it need a red base coat then the azalea colour goes down then its lacquered.

I had the front of mine painted to cure stone chips ant it took 3 attempts before we were happy with the results as the paint also fades quite badly
Lowered on photoshop but since lowered 30mm so not far off!

These two are pre lowering!

Its also the colour af the car in the manual!
