Hi

Went to autosport inters yesterday - not a bad show I thought - met up
with usual suspects Chris E, Bill, Revo Kev, Revo Doug, Davey J and
friends so good to have a chat.

Highlights included:

No doubt highlight of show - Khumo tyres that give red or blue smoke in
a burnout and get this....new product.....rosemary scented smoke - LMAO

Z-cars seem to go from strenth to strength, their lastest monte carlo
space frame 'mini' is awesome - available with bike engine or civic type r
lump

Gardener Douglas GTD40 - glorious lola T90 type car, big V8, fantastic
build quality

S1600 ford fiesta - rear end is a real piece of work, hubs especially,
adjustable in all dimensions

Hankook tyre company now sponsoring the VW cup - and these cars
going on slick tyres for 2006...should be interesting

Range of cool supercharger conversions by TTS - Civic type R for eg.
£3000, hp atw 160 to 300, torque atw 130 to 210 ftlb

Lumiweld - not sure if anyone on here has tried this (?) but ali welding
with a propane torch

Plato on Seat stand - new Leon WTC does look good

Close inspection of supercopa Leon - front track quite a bit wider than rear and front wings are totally fibreglass - and rear brakes are solid disks rather than std vented we guess to reduce brake performance on the rear - other interesting facts about the turbo's on these cars also but thats one for Bill.....

Guinness van, £2.80 a pint

Usual classy ladies on stands offering to sell you their panties.....

'Ave it

Went to the show today. Z cars mini type r is an amazing machine. Live arena was a lot better than I thought it was gunna be, and yes I tripped over my tongue a few times as a result of those classy ladies.

I felt underwhelmed by it all, half the stands I wanted to see wernt their at the weekend. not worth £25 thats for damn certain.

Few cars that really stood out was the naked Viper & bike engined mk1 golf van, Team dynamics did'nt seem to mind me laying on my back underneath their Integra

Lumiweld - is that 2 different solders wound together used with flux? if so Ive tried it allready, you need a knack of doing it and you can get good results.

Liked the guiness van too:beer:

Oh if you didnt know Rob, theres a half page photo of the Pickle in the Quaife catologue I breifly flicked through.......

I went yesterday, some interesting machines. Plus a few questionable mock-ups, like the Maybach Excelero which had no mechanicals and dubious seats.

Interesting cars:

Ariel Atom
Panoz Esperante
Ferari Enzo
Porsche 962
Dodge Viper
Tyrell 6-wheeler
Mosler MT900R
Hillman Imp (my first car  )

Oh, and the León with the bodykit. Nice :p

Also got John Surtees autograph :worship:

And the Toca 3 race between JP and JT, in Clios around Brands Hatch indy, Scott Dennis didn't look pleased when his star drivers were labelled a 'pair of clowns'. :D

Live action ok, especially the Lotus Exige bursting into flames, don't think that was part of the script. Shame Colin McRae could be there with his brother & dad. That would have been cool.

Nobody take pics at these things anymore?
I only took a few of the Porsche 962, I find photography at that kind of event particularly difficult with a crap camera and very strange lighting. Plus it's worse than trying to get a holiday snap at the Taj Mahal without some twonk walking in front of you. (That's not the Taj Mahal takeaway in Blackpool) :D

And I figured Z would get some decent shots of the Seat offering, which he did, albeit from strange angles ;)
