I fitted two Autometer phantom gauges to a Cupra R centre console last weekend (boost and oil temp). IMO the phantoms are a better match than the Autolite as the surround is black plastic to match the centre console.

I also fitted these red LEDs:

They cost £7.88 delivered for the pair and are a direct fit. Make sure that the LED's are fitted the right way round though as they have a postive and negative unlike a normal bulb. It won't wreck the LED if you connect it the wrong way round it just won't work.

I have a good photo of the them illuminated at night, will post it soon when I figure out how to.

P.S. The oil sender is a mare to fit, very tight in Ibiza engine bay.

had to dig this up again, just had a good look at the boost guage kit.

now my question is, when fitting have people used the plastic hose which comes with the kit or used silicone hosing?

if u have used the silicone type, how have u fitted it to the guage?

cheers

I used the plastic hose that came with the boost gauge. I did use some silicone hose to sleeve the plastic hose under the bonnet. This was just to protect the plastic hose from hot engine parts and sharp edges etc...
