auto headlights

My Cupra Leon has the stupid touch panel headlight switch.
Every time I switch off the auto function the car is not happy and turns it back on after the car starts moving.
Is there any way to bypass the auto headlights?

Why would you want to drive in the dark without your headlights on?

I hope that's not a serious question
I dont want to drive with headlights off.
I want to manually control them and not have the car do whatever it wants

Of course it's a serious question. The lights are on when you're driving in the dark, you can disable them when stationary. Why would you need any other functionality than that? It just seems like a pointless battle for control
