AUQ to BAM swap

afternoon,

been thinking about more HP recently ;), and what i would spend maxing out my pretty standard AUQ i could spend half the cash and convert to a BAM engine. (stronger internals)

done a bit of googling and a few searches here and i cant seem to find much information.

so far i Know my ECU is wideband so this shouldn't cause much (if any) conflict when installing a different engine. but I'm still unsure...

engine mounting is very similar and pipe work going to the engine is close but may need modification.

Is this swap going to be a nightmare or easy?

cheers.

Thanks for the info! Can the standard cupra internals, gearbox/differential take the extra power? Are parts between the AUQ and BAM engines interchangeable? Such as inlet mani, exhaust mani?
Cheers.

what your after is the turbo conversion.

manifold
turbo
oil lines
maf + intake
boost pipes
inlet manifold
injectors
remap or get an unlocked ecu from a cupra r

so add all this up and then the cost of selling your cupra , add a little more and then you can buy a cupra r
unless you find all the bits silly cheap

That's what I was getting at, it's cheaper for me to purchase a second hand BAM engine and drop that in for a starting point for tuning, I was just curious as to what parts are going to clash?

By the time you've found and purchased all the bits required you will see it will be cheaper and a lot less hassle to sell your auq and buy an LCR. Nearly all the important parts are different

Main difference is the turbo setup (k03s vs k04)
You can get kits to convert your k03 setup to k04 as its all just bolt on parts then will need mapping to suit
I still have a conversion setup but turbo needs rebuilding

Personal opinion here: I actually like the 'standard look' of the leon cupra not a big fan of the lcr body. Are you selling the conversion setup? ;)
