AUK gearbox into BAM car

Lads,

My diff is in the process of packing up and im looking at replacing with a second hand gearbox. I have located a unit with 20K miles off an 180bhp cupra 6-speed. The engine code on that model is AUK and im wondering if its compatible with my 04 Cupra R BAM engined motor. (I am not currently considering an LSD unit at the moment)

Does anyone know if these will match???

Hmm. AUQ engine is associated with ERR, FML or FZQ gearboxes in the Leon, BAM with FML or FZQ. Best to find out which gearbox the AUQ-engined car has. ERR is an 02ML box, the others 02MP.

If this is a MK1 LC then the box will be compatible

i know this is not specificly to do with this thread but it is related
my warranty company have just refused to pay for my replacement box so i need to locate another, i gave found an audi tt 225 box fit a bam engine code lcr because i have been told the engine is the same so im assuming the drivetrain will be also. I know they are 4wd so i assume it wouldnt work. Also if that fails do the 180bhp leon cupra box's have the same ratios as the 225's Thanks

Not all TT's are quattro, the 180 is front-wheel drive. The ebay ad is clear that the box he has is front-wheel drive.
