Audio Beeping Noise upon Ignition

Hi guys! I've picked up a Seat Leon 1.4 TSI today, a facelift version.

I have a puzzling noise occuring when I turn the ignition after about 15 seconds. Its a rapid beeping noise which appears to come through the speakers as it interrupts the radio.

Does anyone know what this is? I actually have no idea and I've pressed every button I can see.

Thanks.

On a leon that usually means the bluetooth has connected between car and mobile.

If it just beeps once for around 1 second that means your Bluetooth is connected to a phone

if it lasts longer than around 1 second then

It appears as though there is a Parrot CK3100 in the car somewhere. I've found the microphone hidden where the diagnostic port is but I'm not sure where the blue box is. There is no display unit, but I can see where it must have been stuck on the dash.

Where is the usual hiding place for the bluetooth control box in a leon? I can't see it under the seat. If it's behind the radio, I might have to get someone else to disconnect it.

a parrot kit will normally beep rapidly for a few seconds if the screen is not detected. I have seen quite a few doing this where the ribbon cable has pulled itself out of the back of the screen.

The blue box isn't going to be far away from the back of the radio as a sot lead has almost certainly been used for connection. If you can get radio out you could disconnect the kit or if you dont have bluetooth and want it, replacement screens for the 3100 can be had for about £40.

Not sure on removal instructions for your radio but suspect they will be similar to the pre-facelift ones. I use 4 small pieces of dvd case cut to size :)

Thanks Shaun, excellent advice. Will removing the radio give me issues with the code as I dont seem to have one in the documentation. I would hope to be able to slide the radio out without disconnecting it although I have no idea if the wiring loom would be long enough.

Alternatively, I might purchase one of the replacement screens and see if I can make use of it as £40 doesnt seem bad value.

Wiring loom will be long enough to slide the whole thing out - especially if the SOT lead is also connected.

You wont have any issues with radio codes.
