iam thinking about getting the ATP GT28RS, but what i would want is around the 300BHP level. I dont want to get into rebuilding gearboxs etc as its mine and my wife to be every day car.

I want the GT28RS for its potential and i like the idea of running at below its max performance. What do you think, RS or X for 300BHP?

i reckon our AM04 :p Alot less hassle, Dont underestimate the work involved, We have gone through design on one over the last 2 years, and it is a longer project than we ever imagined, results are awesome but reliability and hassle comes with it and an empty wallet

I think your gettin confused mate, the GT28RS and the ATP Eliminator GTRS are different trubos. GT28RS will run 350-400 brake and will cost you a lot of money and will blow apart your box and clutch.

Personally i like the power of the GT2X coz its pretty much on the limit of all standard parts of the car and its bolt on. Around 300bhp.

But as mike says above, the AM04 and the JBS04 are all around the 270-300bhp. Which is something i will be lookin at very soon.

I would say go for the cheaper option. Garrett Turbo chargers are very reliable aslong as there looked after, and if you get some kind of mechanism to control boost you dont need to run your car at 300HP all day every day - you can crank up the boost when needed.

But remember roller bearing turbos are not serviceable if it goes you have to practicly throw it away and buy another one.:p

plus i seen some pics of fittment of the gt28rs on stock manni on golf and there is little to no room and looks a bugger to fit, so getting it on an ibiza, seriously doubt it on stock manni/location

As for gt28RS, good luck finding a suitable, proven, reliable, available UK kit on an Ibiza, so far

This looks very impressive and very tempting. What does the car drive like? From the graph it looks like it pulls hard right up the rev range.

I would forget the rest and get the am04 if your looking for 270-300bhp. I would only use a good mapper someone like jabba. I am sure Mike will point you in the right direction for that.

Most people know what kit i have on my car 60k and original gearbox and clutch. If treated sensibly you can run 300-350bhp without to much hassle. Now having done 18k on IHI and above.

Shock_XE...... What boost pressure is this car running to acheive these results ?

Does anyone know how much BHP is lost threw the transmission on the Ibiza Cupra:D

I run a little more than nessecery. to achieve 260-275ish bhp 18-20psihold is enough from what jabba said, I run 20-22psi hold but run a large spike of upto 25psi, doesnt affect peak performance just mid range, mods dependant of course

12-15% tranny loss I think

drives very well, although torque figure isnt huge (280lbs) it is consistent so decievingly smooth but just keeps going compared to k03 which lets you down after a short while

It does come in hard, had a few people drive it all with positive comments

if u see graph it still has 240bhp @7k+rpm

This dyno was on Jabbas NEW Rollers (old ones are little loser with numbers)

thanks Gary,

Agree use Jabba everytime, plus he has a base map for this turbo/mods etc, i.e. mine :) Jabba will also fit the turbo/parts

the 4 runs show 2 hot and 2 cold, hot runs being our summer outside temps so know its good for that

Stage 2 should show good gains, Large Port Manni and flown/ported turbine housing and sports actuator

Plus the turbo has been fitted and running for 16mths now without issue so has been tested well

Good Afternoon

Here at JBS Auto Designs we do a conversion kit for the Mk3 Ibiza GT28RS.

At the moment we have a Seat Ibiza Mk3 in the workshop that is having a hybrid GT28RS turbo conversion that has a purpose built right hand drive JBS cast manifold.

With his conversion the power can be taken up to 300bhp without any internal modifications, If you are after more than 300bhp then this can be completed on request, we can offer performance internals so the conversion can be taken up to 400bhp

With this conversion we also manufacture a 3" custom down pipe, centre and rear exhaust system. You will also get a custom front mounted intercooler using high flow core and custom pipe work.

When we have completed this conversion I will post up pictures of the conversion with final power graphs.

P.S. The engine cover will still fit on after the conversion.

EDIT: I have just been informed by Custom-Code HQ that software for all ATP Eliminator turbo kits is now available at Custom-Code agents.
The Custom-Code remaps for the Eliminator kits start from £550+VAT

roll up roll up.... bring it on..
Still intrigued to see how the eliminators get on when they finally hit the uk rollers.

Custom Code Mapping to suit.... :)
OE drive and powerful. Just as it should be.

Going to be an interesting '06 when these start to hit the streets

With the kit in question if you have stnd internals is it at the owners risk going above 300bhp or will you just not map it any harder regardless of what they want?.

We will not make the car produce any more power than 300bhp on standard internals. If the customer wants more power then performance internals are needed.

With putting more than 300bhp on standard internals the engine will not be able to cope with such power and you will be looking at major repair work such as a new block, cylinder head, valves, rods, pistons, turbo etc.

Reliability is my main issue as i dont dont have bottomless pockets and ive already spent 3K+ on the car. I would want to make use of the ATP high flow manifold i have on the car so either ATP eliminator or AM04 is the way forward.

I would like the potential to go higher than 300BHP if i wanted too in the future so maybe GT28RS is the route for me, but i hadn't read about the AM04 until now.

Does the AM04 just bolt on or does it require more work than that. I think i have the rest of the hardware required to support a bigger turbo i think? excluding injectors. see sig.

Would these be suitable injectors for both turbo kits? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bosch-803-gre...54667329QQcategoryZ122139QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
