Good to see you've got the car back and you're pleased with it, Matt. It looks like you've ended up with more power than you could have got from a potato.

Did James give you any idea if there was more to be had, or if he had any idea why it was a bit less bhp-wise than your expectations?

(Is my name still on the methanol? :) - Is it in your way at the moment? I could have a trip to Carlisle soon. )

To be honest i was a little disappointed at first with those figures, but believe me they dont tell the story. Power and torque is strong all the way to 8K , it it pulls very strong from 3.5K.

Hold on, hold on

Your car now goes up to 8k??:-o

This thing must be sick on accerleration:D

Get some videos of this when you go to crail Matt, id love to see what this can do.

Some great work and a great read, well done:D

Cheers everyone.

Its very satisfying knowing i have done most the work, but i could not have done it all myself.

After a very satisfying trip too work and back iam a very happy boy, although the clutch is making a sreeching noise when pulling away once its hot so i will have to get a SPEC item.

I cant get over how smooth the delivery is, JBS really have done top notch job.

I think they culd have pushed the turbo harder as it is only running 1.4 BAR, but i dont want to wreck the turbo, who knows in a few months i might change the turbo again and add a Ross machine manifold.

But it seems what i have read about small port heads only flowing 415 ish BHP is incorrect, as JBS said EddyH's octy is small port and running ~450 BHP.

Iam going round my mates tonight so the camera will be out so i will get some video's up asap.

Craig........ as for the comments on the figures, you are right, not much more than a IHI stage 3, petes is 343 BHP and 360 odd torque, but i think mine feels quicker. The 1/4 mile will tell. I could have dropped the car of at jabba and said make it fast but thats not me at all, i wanted to do something a little different. and iam pleased to say it worked.

A few things that James told me to do are:

Move airfilter into a cold location or shield it.
Replace intercooler piping with alloy pipes.
Get rid of the V band DP adapter and fit a flow divider
and a ross machine manifold.

But enough is enough for now, like nicky said, its her turn to spend some cash for a change :) as if

FFS... why?? lol
because you can get whatever from smallport and std mani/throttle, you can get MORE with largeport and larger intake/throttle...

eg: 32bhp gains on 485bhp from a throttle/mani alone

Airflow vs losses. sure you can shove air thru a small hole with enough force, but a larger hole wont take as much force for the same airflow.. (so think same boost, bigger apature more airflow = more power)
