Sorry if this has been covered before, I tried a search but got different answers.

My 2002 Toledo 110 Tdi is coming up for 120,000 miles so I looked in the service book to see when the timing belt was last changed, as I thought it was a 60000 mile belt change.

It was done by a Seat dealer in 2007 at 79000 miles with new rollers and water pump. The book says it should be changed every 80000 miles.

Would it have been fitted with another 80000 mile belt or possibly a 60000 mile belt, and it is it 4 or 5 years until changing?

Thanks

Apparently, you are supposed to check the condition of the belt every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is sooner. Replacement width is less than 22mm. Belt replacement every 60,000 miles as well as the tensioner.

some may say lala land....
loads of threads on cambelt changes
general consensus is change every 60k or 4 years whichever is sooner.
it seemed to change at some point and dealers seem to give conflicting advice as well based on the threads.
do water pump with metal impellers at same time, cost as need to remove same to change on its own.

or you can wait and hope nothing bad happens as MJ notes

I'm sure my TDI 110 book says 60K or 5 years. I did mine at 60K in any case, and if I were you I'd do it at 120K too - although you could leave it till 140K, which would be 60K after the last change.
