Evening lads, not been on here for ages. I used to have an 03 plate cupra r monster but that got sold to a friend and several cars later I now own a boggo 55 plate fr. I bought it pretty cheap and it’s got a few niggles which I was aware of, including a boost leak, I managed to drive it 250 miles home with this leak as it wasn’t really that savage but I had a bit of free time this weekend and decided to sort it out. This is where it starts getting fun.
Whipped the bumper off and with the last bolt undone it popped off under a bit of pressure, I was like ‘fantastic, what’s its baulked up against to do that’, long story short it’s had a bit of a shunt, unrecorded of course, no damage to the chassis legs or anything severe but a bit of a twist in the a/c and coolant rad, and a load of cable ties holding pipes up etc. So I chopped it all out and let it hang loose and low and behold I found a small pipe about 4 inches long at the very front split, more than likely from the impact or originally from that and it got worse over time, either way, it suddenly dawned on me that there was a problem, the car was light 1 x intercooler! It’s just pipework, followed by pipework, followed by more pipework. So I’m after a pic of the standard pipework and how it routed, including the elusive intercooler and how it mounts as it looks like I’m gonna have to get all new pipework as what’s on it looks pretty billybob. I’d rather go down the standard route as I’m taking a break from modified cars atm, just sold my golf with all the toys on it and got an old lupo gti sat in the garage that’s doing nothing but catching cobwebs right now.
Any help would be fantastic, so yeah, thanks!
Pete
