Collected my chariot from Jim today after a long haul up the M5/M6.

Just like a big thanks to Jim and the lads at Awesome.

For a first conversion the car is incredible....thought my old valver was quick!!

Got to learn to get used to the grunt..it's so refined and smooth.

Thought it may be slightly laggy compared to KO3 power....wrong.

Between 2-3k it's better ythan before very smooth with plenty of ooomph!!

Over 3k it just fly's all the way to 7k.

The install looks so neat and stock just what I wanted. Just a blue intake pipe into the airbox.

Super quiet except for the ingestation of air by the blower.

Just going to run it around for a month before I take it back for a checkover.

On the journey back at normal motorway speeds and a few blasts I was seeing an incredible 33mpg.!!

Got 4 programmes on the ECU including a race fuel programme as well as 95/98 ron.

Intercooler seems OK at the present but will be changed later.

Brilliant all round package IMO.:funk:

Sounds like a fantastic conversion Ian, have you got a lsd fitted? How do you find traction?

Quaiffe diff already fitted together with uprated Sachs Sports clutch and lightened flywheel....had it fitted a while ago now.

No problems with traction thus far in the dry....bug camber angles on some minor country lanes needs respect.

how did the car feel after the diff clutch and lighter flywheel?

Superb...stock smoothness still.

Diff really is a hidden gem especially on track. I used it for 2 yrs on track with KO3s APR mapped and diff...brilliant all round package.

Track rubber is a must though!!

cool ill be looking forward to this then when it comes out of the shop.

Just running it around bedding things in making sure everything settles.

Cause for concern yesterday when engine light came on misfiring huffing and puffing and loss of boost.

Thankfully found that number 2 cylinder coil pack had literally packed up.

Bought a full set as it's still on OE since new.

Still the car is a truly flexible companion. The on road manners are commmendable. Between 2-3k it's a joy driving around town with oodles of omph from just 2800 onwards. The spool is very smooth and progessive.
Still getting 30mpg around town and over on a run.

Blistering pace surprising a few in other performance hatches.

Next mod will be trying the eccentric hubs which give excellent handling/traction results apparently!!
Combe beckons.

Would love to se ethis in the flesh and some final power graphs. Best get some hitachi (sp?) ones or get the bolt down covers to try and reduce the risk of them going again

Gonna book up Ford RS day at Combe...a must as it is every year.

There a couple of things to do prior to track work.

Forgot to mention that the car also has a Race fuel programme...pushes power up yet again... won't be using that on stock internals.

See you all at Inters
