Apexi AVC-R or HKS EVC 6

Currently I have a Leon Cupra R (225) with a hybrid Ko4 (JBS05). I'm looking to fit an EBC as I have quite a nasty spike mid range and I want to elminate this and have more control over the boost across the revs and also through gears.

I've been looking mainly at the Apexi unit as this will do everything I need and also takes in to account throttle position so should give a smooth drive on part throttle. However I've also seen the HKS EVC 6 which has more or less the same features.

My question is does anyone have any experience with these two EBC's in terms of how well they work and how easy they are to install and setup?

I'm leaning more towards the HKS as I can get it for a reasonable price and I've heard reports thats its easier to configure than the Apexi.

yeah wasn't sure what they're like to live with and how easy they are to setup. Gone with the HKS now hopefully get it on Friday.

The other thing that put me off was that Apexi have gone bust apparently so prices are sky high on the units and if they fail you have no warranty to fall back on.

I'll let you know how I get on with the HKS. Just need to find an ECU wiring diagram which is proving difficult.

I have a HKS EVC V in my Supra and a AVC-R in my Cupra R and I'm sure both are a little bit tricky to adjust, but if you know how it works both are easy and the gear based shifting in the AVC-R is great

Off topic but I love those Pulsars.

Chuck some pics of it up. Very fun cars when they are not overheating, blowing head gaskets or gearboxes and you up the boost a little.

mates got an evc 5 in his drift car, look the biz, thought they'd interfear too much with the standard management on my leon to bother??? is it worth the hastle and how does it get on with the standard management.
