i would be inclined to use the actuator that came with it, ill try and find out the difference between the two actuators for you...

have u logged the car to see what the ECU is requesting boost wise?

I havent logged it myself no, but im taking it back to the garage on tuesday so they can have a look.. I think i might know the problem.. You know the tube that comes off the d/v (green arrow) it used to go into the copper box (yellow arrow) But know it comes off the d/v and into the actuator? I have only just spotted this as i was looking through some old pics of my engine bay..
Someone please tell me thats the problem lol

What you reckon guys??

maybe try a quick N249 bypass and take the d/v connection straight off a inlet manifold vag hose (if i remember correctly?)

hmmm im not completely sure, pm jonzy as i know hes done this and understands it well, martyn probably knows the answer too!

Right, forget the N249 bypass for now.

Run the vac line from the DV to the side of the N249 valve (brass box).

The pipe which runs from the 'brassy can' (actuator) will need to be passed up the back of the engine joined with a 'T' piece. The right hand side of the T piece goes to the top of the valve on the very left hand side of the engine and the right hand side tucks away to a silver round thing.

My car has the N249 bypassed so dont worry that some of the pipes dont look connected.
