If i had the A3 mapped now, would I get a discount on re-remapping in the future if there were a solution to the DPF problem?

My '170' pulled 186.6bhp, and 273lbft, I shall be waiting until someone is tuning regular 215-220's before I get the wallet out.

Similar here, my ickle '160' achieved 175bhp & 273lb/ft standard so I would hope for in excess of 200bhp for a remap.

Shame no-one guarantees such figures....;)

Sounds good, keep us informed as it looks like you'll have a fair few customers on the back of this :)

Hi, just a quick question... how does this affect the clutch?

I had my Mk1 Cupra TDi re-mapped by Celtic and the clutch lasted for about 2k miles before it was knackered! So I sold the car as £800 for a new clutch, flywheel was is not my idea of fun!

So.... does the re-map on the Mk2 FR TDI (this is the car I have now) suffer from the same problems? I want to get the re-map done but am wary of having to put a new clutch in...!

The clutch will be fine 100% on a smooth map :)

There is a solution now. I believe Miltek have developed a system to remove the DPF.

Removing the DPF will be the only way to get more power. It will also require some accurate mapping, which of course we will be able to do ;)

Been trying to get data out of Miltek for the last month, but just a black hole at the moment?!?!?

I spoke to someone at Milltek the other day and they said that they are still developing the map for the exhaust on the MK5 Golf because they are still getting too much black smoke, it could be over two months before they release it for the Golf and even longer for the Leon!

Well, at least my programmer said that he has now deleted two DPF cars: MB 200CDI and VW T5 174. He also said that he's going to do this only for his friends for now, as he don't want to help any program copiers. He said that it's not easy to delete, but really easy to copy once done and then tell how good they are without really having a clue what's done and why. He also works as a pilot place for some big chip companies, so I'd bet he gets his share from all of this.

Just the other week he had to deal with an industrial spy, trying to get his Volvo 2.5T program innovations conserning variable valve timing. This is my main interest at the moment as my "slightly improved" Volvo is at his place waiting to be reprogrammed.

There's also no other downside from the DPF delete without reprogramming, but some lights will appear in the dash within 1-2 weeks, saying check the emissions. No power loss or anything. Of course passing inspection can be tricky with those lights on.

I'd bet there are others too who can do the delete, but they are keeping their mouth shut, untill they find a proper way to distribute it. Otherwise big companies will just copy it and start selling it worldwide. :censored:

Here's two DPF delete examples from my programmer guy:

MB Vito 200CDI (204hp originally, now 286hp)
http://www.turbotec.com/_uutiset/vito_120cdi_dpf.pdf

VW T5 2.5TDI (130hp). No dyno plot available here, sorry.

1. originally on dyno 101kW/137hv - 335Nm
2. DPF deleted 143kW/194hv - 461Nm

Both of these are done with altering DPF boundaries within program so no emission lights on the dashboard. No other mods besides the DPF delete.

The ONLY down side I can see it when the DPF IS actually blocked it will ruin the engine through too much back pressure. The way I'm looking at is to take the insides out and fool the 5 sensors [or freeze the values]???

Without DPF delete, it's impossible to get more than ~170hp from T5(130hp) or ~260hp from Vito 200CDI, at least in decent dyno. Anything more will get the DPF clocked. By deleting it, there's a safe way to get something like 10% more power. Of course there's always a possibility to take it even 5% further by overfueling, but that's always a risk with elevated EGT and EMP and that should be done only if customer insist on it.

I'd bet there's a way to fool those sensors, but why fool, if you can just make new boundaries to them within program?

I hear a rumour that Allard have produced a DPF 'replacement'?
