Technically I'm in this category too - mine is already at the dealership, but they won't give it to me before January.

By the way, I'm thinking about upgrading the speakers, with something like a 5-channel amplifier, subwoofer and two pairs of speakers. Probably from Alpine; a local store seems to have reasonable prices. What size speakers go in front and rear doors? Is there space for tweeters in A-pillars? (Any comment or suggestion is of course welcome.)

I'm in a similar situation, I decided to change the spec on my original order and this meant having to make a fresh order on October 6th. Have been advised it'll be end of Feb / Early March before car is delivered. Hoping it isn't delayed further as my current PCP on my VW Polo which I'm part exchanging terminates on March 17th. Not sure what happens if the order is delayed beyond this.

They will normally let you continue paying the finance for a few months if the new car is late.

I know it’s late but I finally have in my possession an armrest.

Photos to follow

Who knows. I may be the first ever to have an armrest in the UK in an FR. :)

Here it is. Unfortunately I am missing 2 clips required to fit it, so need to wait for those.

Ok. Thought that might be the case.

The LI8 bit is Titan Black. This matches the plastic bit that fits on the back.

I just went out in the freezing cold and checked that the plastic does indeed match the rest of the car.

So, I’m a bit stumped. On that ifinterface site it lists two possible part numbers for the armrest. One Titan black, and the other some weird tan colour. That must be only the plastic colour. Unfortunately nowhere that shows part numbers for the actual fabric bit.

I think I can get away with it because I have the alcantara which is sort of black cloth/leather.

Pretty sure it should be the leatherette type one really though.

To be fair the leatherette can be slippy at times so fabric would be better in this regard.

Is the part no easily found on the main armrest itself be interesting as if easily obtainable and I know where to look I’ll see if I can get the number from mine.

Thanks.

Edit not sure the difference but it may explain, there seems to be 2 different sets of part numbers:

6F0864207 with LI8 for Titan Black
6F0864207A with LI8 for Titan Black

6F0864207 with XU2 for Beige/Sand
6F0864207A with XU2 for Beige/Sand

Price varies by a few €'s

The part number is right on the bottom, so you'd have to unbolt it. :(

I thought the same as you, but changed my mind quickly because if you look here:

https://www.oemvwshop.com/6F0864207ALI8-armrest-titan-black-p1504858/

It implies perhaps it's an "older" variant.

If you look on ifinterface for a golf of the same year and same armrest, they have multiple entries for cloth / leatherette / colour etc.

I think the one I have wont look out of place, so long as my young son doesn't puke on it, as leatherette is easier to clean :)

Just waiting for 2 x 6F0863513A, the little L shaped retainer brackets.

BTW, their is also a ABW9, CBW9 which from my research sounds like a Red one. (Wine Red)

So LI8 - Titan Black, XU2 - Beige, BW9 - Red, but I believe that is the plastic colour only. I haven't found any relevance of the A, B or C to the make of the fabric.

1.5 is what I’m after not in a position to order until January though. I am disappointed with Seats build times at the moment the Leon is shocking one reason why I’m now looking at the Ibiza but 12-14 weeks is quite bad I’ve never wait as long for a factory order.

I believe they have only just started building the 1.5 Ibiza’s. I’ve bought a lot of Seats over the years and it’s always been 12 weeks for a factory order.

My little retainer brackets have arrived.

Going to attempt fitting the armrest in the dark. :)

Photos to follow hopefully.

Job done. There were a couple of parts not required.

I’ll post the full part list required should anyone else want to order.
