Anyone notice moisture in their lights?

I noticed the day i brought my Leon home that the left Fog light had some moisture in it, and more recently after some rain i noticed that the driving lights also have a small amount of moisture in them....anyone else have this, are there adverse effects... i know that the fog needs to be replaced because the other one is fine, but just wondering if the driving lights will be a problem....
thanks

i washed mine the other day and noticed that main lights had fogged up, will check next time i have driven it in the rain, i cannot imagine fogged up lights in the dark does much for the visability (not a fan of the lights in the dark, perhaps they make them like this so that you get the zenons fitted !)

I've had some in my front left foglight as well. It wouldnt burn away when I left the foglights on for a while...

When I took my car for its first service they cleaned/dried it out for me. So far so good!

Trouble is modern light units are mainly sealed units, and air inside will be at a different temperature to the air outside. You'll always get some moisture and condensation developing, just as it does on your windscreen etc.

The heat from the lights usually evaoporates this buildup, but as the moisture may not have anywhere to escape to, it will condensate again the next time they go cold.

Mk1 Leon's are no stranger to this either with their all in one light units.

I too have been attacked with this issue. Ever since i took the car to these hand wash car places. They used a pressure washer and ever since condensation has been a problem with the drivers side head lights. Ive driven a few miles with the lights on, but obviously not long enough as condensation is still there.

The only thing I can think of to dry it out is to attack it with a hair dryer?

Yep... noticed 'steamed up' lights on my 6 week old FR after it saw heavy rain and cold for the first time... but only in the main unit.
