Right then generally speaking it drives with no probs (cupra R, revo stg1, filter, forge oo7) but sometimes if you pin your foot down from fairly low revs the boost comes in then it stutters a bit and then carrys on pulling fine once the revs get a bit higher..
Only really noticeable in higher gears 3rd upwards but very noticeable in 5th..
All the coil packs were replaced not to long ago when I found out you could still get them done on warrenty, plugs were done about 5k ago so shouldn't be them...
I haven't got a boost gauge or vag-com so can't trace it very easily.. + it doesn't do it that often but does do it more regular if you've just been cruising along at a steady pace (say about 70) then give it some toe.....

1 of you clever bunch will be able to narrow this down I'm sure........

does it happen at around 3k revs?
If so, it happens alot on these cars, i remember reading a thread a while back about it.

It does yeah.... between 3 and 3.5...

It might be common but it never did it untill recently and its bugging me already

Mines been doing that, i was travelling to work at 5am one morning this week and it was freezing cold, had perfect conditions for a thrash round, was cruising at about 70 mph, and a scrotbag in a Fiat Stilo HGT come burning up behind me and i decided to teach him some manners, so i booted mine and started to leave him, but on getting into 5th gear, hit around 4000RPM and the car just stuttered and the boost dropped off, it then just wouldn't go any more over that, the Bugger flew along level with me, but it then kicked in and it was like someone had hit me up the arse end with an Artic truck, i left him and continued to display the universal call sign of one finger as i left onto the slip road, he wasn't to happy!!!! Wats this stutter/power loss all about though????? Only done it once or twice in the 8months ive owned her for!!!

Mine used to do that, it used to get on my nerves so much!

It turned out to be caused by some 'monkey' that decided to adjust the wastegate actuator causing the car to overboost and hit soft limp.

How did you solve this Martyn??? Its something to get started on anyway, i'll get mine checked by my mate at Seat!!

I wound the actuator back to its correct position mate.
