I was swapping my front indicator bulbs this afternoon when disaster arose! I had changed the bulb on the passenger side and was just clipping the headlamp cover back on when one of the metal retainers fell off into the engine bay under the air intake hose! Due to the undertray there is no way of obtaining it from underneath and I tried everything from sellotape on the end of a rod to a long pair of pliers! All without success! Unfortunately they are not magnetic so couldn't use my magnetic rod!

I think it will be ok without the retainer but next time I'm at the dealer I will ask him to look for the retainer which will either rattle around until that day or fall out! In the short term I could order a new cover. So if you choose to swap your bulbs beware....

It was getting dark but if I had had more time removing the air intake shield probably would have sufficed. If anybody has had a similar experience I would be grateful I hearing what you did to get the retainer back ;)

I remember that someone lost one once, dare I say "do a search". I found out myself that they're not magnetic :D

I have a feeling that it's not a part you can order on its own. You might find one in a scrappy

when i first bought my lc i had one of the retainers missing so i tried to order one at the dealers and they told me i'd have to buy a full new headlight. So i ended up bending a bike spoke into shape and it works a treat :funk:

My dealer also said they are only available with a new headlight. I'd take the undertray off or not bother at all.
