any one changed brake shoes

my back brakes been grinding for a bit now so this morring i went and got some new ones, took my back wheels off and the drum tuck every think apart, now i can not put them back to geather again, what a pain there are any one no were i can find a step by step or any think helpfull ?

Had the exact same problem, only took me about two hours to work it out by trial and error!

However use this link, its a photo of the set-up that i think will be the same as yours, looks the same as the golf anyhow.

On the right i seem to remember having to use a screwdriver to lever a metal part into place, difficult to describe. Its a fiddly job so dont worry if it takes a while to do!

Also, the master cylinder, dont know if you have used an elastic band to hold the piston each side of it in place. If not and its leaked you will need to re-bleed the brakes.

ALSO dont breath anything in, really hazardous stuff so dont get too close, or wear a mask.

i no the bit you on about thats the bit that has me confuised, just seems to not want to stay were it is ment to go, i am gonna have a go in a bit when the rain stops,
