When I'm getting this result using super resin polish (new formula) followed by 2 coats of Meguires gold class wax??

Would it be pointless or good practice to include EGP in between the SRP and wax?
Also, is Ultra Deep Shine any better?

Cheers,

Extra Gloss Protection containes waxes that extend the life of the polish underneath. Your wax will do a similar job (albeit taking longer to apply), so I don't think you'd see any benefit.

If you go SRP then EGP you will get good results.
If you go SRP then wax you will get good results.

Comes down to the durability of the products you are using. I have no doubt that EGP will last longer i.e. 2-3 months. Your wax depending on how you wash your car and what type of shampoo you are using may see 1-2 months max. More premium wax you will get anything from 3-6 months. I have had a wax lasting nearly 9 months by extremely careful washing technique. Must admit though 5 months in the beading wasnt as strong.

old thread resurrection...

To jonjay above;
I have Meguires gold class paste wax (bought on a trip to US) and the liquid version of same from halfords. I assume the paste is/should be more durable than the liquid?

To be clear, if I used EGP I would not need wax over it? (just confused as I see others polish, apply sealant and then apply wax?)

Also, am I right in thinking AG Ultra Deep shine is just another version of Super Resin Polish?
Cheers.

As said EGP is a sealant and as a result more durable..

Recommend
Polish
Deep shine
EGP
Wax

Will make your efforts worth while and alot more long lasting!

Ant

I am not really sure never played with the gold class paste waxes. It all depends on what sort of polymers they use between the two and whether it is a true wax. For example the Ultimate past wax is a synthetic sealant but Meguairs call it a wax from a marketing stand point.

Anyway at a guess the paste wax will be better protection wise as long as you dont applied to much.

If your going to go to the trouble of using SRP>EGP I wouldnt bother using the wax. I would not however go EGP>WAX as to apply EGP the paint surface needs to be properly prepped with SRP.

UDP is another version of SRP and works best on darker cars. If you use UDP then top up with a pure wax afterwards.

Ultra deep shine is an all in one. Polish and sealant iirc, only one coat is needed. Although srp can be used before uds.

Putting a wax or a different sealant over the first sealant will diminish the finish and disturb the sealant, say auyoglym. If your going to wax over it, do it afew days or a week later. But theres no need really!
