Any any off the non Seat Front Brake Pads for Cupra R have the metal plate?

Dear All,

I was one that brought the Gaffer front brake pads and found out not that they killed the disk. But that at low speed they make a noise as they move a little in the caplier. It was only after looking at the orginal Seat Parts that they have a extra piece of metal plate welded to the pads which reduces this noise.

Can anyone tell me if the other brake pads have this item?

Anti-rattle spring you mean. Most if not all brake calipers will have this. Its a part that goes with the caliper - not with the pads.

Sounds like he means anti-squeal shims on the back of the pads.


I've not got these on my Brembos (Renualtsport) and never heard them mentioned on the LCR

left to right, SEAT (hard to see as it's black, but does have a shim), EBC Red Ceramic, (obvious black shim), Galfer 1055, (no shim).

i didnt fit the original metal plates onto my 1045 galpher pads... however i did put copper grease on the back of the pads (as i ALWAYS do) and yet again i do not have squeeky brakes!


so i suggest if the squeeky brakes are annoying you, you simply take the pads out and apply some copper grease to them!

Can you buy the bembo pads from Bembo? Or do you have to go to Seat?

Don't think Brembo sell anything direct to the public.


Could always go for the Ibiza CupraR pads - no wear sensor, but much cheaper cos of it

the noise you are describing sounds more like the suspension to me!


im 99% sure i know the noise u mean, as i noticed mine used to clunk sometimes, when moving forwards a bit, then backwards and braking!!!

this is nout to worry about, its normal... as it goes since i fitted my coilovers the car hasn't made this noise!

I had this 2 months after buying my LCR from new took it back to seat and their is a mod to cure it,all done on warranty it was some mod on the brakes not quite sure now sorry
