Hi,
I've had my Leon Cupra R for a couple of weeks. It's a 53 reg (Nov) 210 with the recaro seats in black. I've got a couple of questions I hope you can help me out on.

Over the last few days i've noticed a very slight fluctuation in boost when the engine is cold. Within the first mile or so when accelerating slowly past around 2000rpm I can notice it. However a few miles later it disappears. Is this anything to worry about? I should also be getting a cable delivered over the next couple of days so will be able to check for error codes with my laptop.

Also the lacquer has flaked off one of the front calipers. The paintwork is fine but would like to put some more lacquer on. Does anyone know if it has to be some kind of special heat resistant stuff or will any do?

Could just it be running rich whilst the engine warms up maybe??? as the idol on them is slightly higher when you first start the cars up.

Hesitation when cold is a common Leon 'feature'. Nothing to worry about at all :)

As for your brakes.. have a look at the current thread called 'Pink Brembos' and your question will be answered in full. A little tip, on that note... do make sure you search for answers before posting, as both your questions have been covered 101 times before ;)

Thanks guys. I suppose the boost problem could also be partially due to the car running on normal unleaded for the last week or maybe longer before I got the car so it's still adjusting. I'm going to be running it on super unleaded from now on. Once i've got my vag-com cable and checked to see if everything is in good shape i'm going to book an appointment at jabbasport for a remap and dump valve :)

Good stuff, great start to the new car :D

And VAG-COM is one of the most useful tools you can have for VAG ownership, IMO :)
