Hi,
Need some advice on clutch kits for a stage 2 LCR, im looking at a kit off the bay as an option: Sachs dual mass flywheel, Sachs pressure plate, sachs carbon kevlar plate and a hydraulic slave cylinder for £500

Just looking to know what peoples thoughts are on replacing for another dual mass, i know of single mass but dont fancy the chatter.
Is this a decent kit for the money or can it be done better/cheaper?

Thanks

Im on the look out for a clutch kit myself. I saw a post a few weeks ago where Bill mentioned he uses a standard LUK dual mass and cover plate with a Sachs 4 puk paddle.

Also subscribed as my clutch is slipping :(

The other threads which I've searched doesn't really give a deifinate answer for Stage 2 LCRs.

I'm up for going SMF for the change and do have £1k spare to use for the clutch and fitting (would like to keep some pennies spare if possible).

I know Awesome GTI can do the Helix Kit with SMF for £898 or with DMF for £917 (quite pricey) so would like to hear about others being used :)

I checked Awesome's website and it doesnt really state what friction material is used, looks to me like its a standard clutch kit with a single mass conversion, maybe wrong but it wouldnt last long in a stage 2.
£500 is not looking too bad now! :)

We need to get a group buy on the go!

Have been looking at the Valero smf conversion ECP sell. A mate has one on his Ibiza cupra and he says to go for it. Only thing putting me off with tht comment is I've heard there better suited to the 5 speed?

Or does anybody know what parts this clutch kit consists of? Could then try TPS and try get the parts cheaper.

Well I've ruled out the SMF after talking to Bill and thinking of the future.... thinking I won't be going big power and I doubt I'll have the car after another year of ownership maybe!

So going for LUK 3 Piece Clutch Kit and LUK DMF with SACHs paddle drive plate, still going to cost over £600 but cheaper than £900 + fitting lol!!

Looking for something a bit stronger than std as car is stage 1 but live in London so 75% of the time is traffic driving so still want to keep it useable day to day.

Has anyone tried the Black Diamond kits?
