Another Aero Wiper Thread...

Been doing a search through old threads regarding aero wipers for the front and rear of my cupra.

From what i'm reading, I can get the front Lupo arms and blades and they will fit straight onto my cupra with no modification at all, well apart from a bit of trimming on the blade. Would it not be easier to buy the arms and buy the blades separatley from a motorist centre, therefore not having to trim them?

The rear is from a Mk5 polo / lupo, with blade which doesn't need to be modified?

Is that right?

I was reading this thread in particular

2 driver's side lupo arm's and blade's, thats what i used, only needed to trim 1 side of 1 off the blades, as for the rear i used a mk5 golf wiper, i'll dig the part number's out later but there quite expensive, £95ish for the front and about £15-20 for the rear

I have a friend who works for VW, so i might be able to get a discount. If not then i'll just buy them, not too fussed about the price.

If you could dig the details out then that would be great.

Cheers

Yeah most of the ones i have seen go up behind the mirror im sure i read on here befor about someone else doing it. plus on the imported cupras its standard.

Ah, i know what you mean now, my old man's Alhambra had one come to think of it. Quite a good piece of kit. Have people fitted them to their Cupra's then?

just been onto the phone to VW Warrington to see if they have the MK5 polo/lupo rear wiper in stock, they said £4.86 for the blade and £4.36 for the arm, does this sound right???? i was under the impression they were about £20 for some reason??

I can't confirm part numbers now, I will do this when I get home tonight if interested, but:

If you want to get Aero Wipers for any Seat, get in touch with the bloke at http://www.wolfsburg-parts.com/

I spent ages searching the forum and it saved me the hassle of "will it/won't it fit". My rear cost me £22 ish, inc delivery I think. The fronts were £77 inc delivery. All come with blades and fit straight on, front blade needs trimming, easy job and the bloke who runs wolfsburg parts will know what you need if you tell him what you want!

the ones i got seem too cheap, do you have to say they are a aero wiper, i only said mk5 lupo/polo

Yes. I'm no expert, I did the research and searched this site, but nobody has put down a post yet that says "order 'these' part numbers from 'this' supplier and success is guaranteed" which I hope to do later.

To the best of my knowledge, from the Lupo range, only the Lupo GTI (16v) came with Aero wipers, from which it's the front drivers' side that we need.

(I tried calling my local VW garage and they said their system shows at least 2 varieties for the Lupo GTI.. I expect they're the same, but they revised their part numbers or made a small change during the Lupo GTI production.. but nobody else had mentioned which revision I needed, so I went with a supplier that knew what I wanted. I hope to post exactly what you need on here later this week.)
