annoying vibrating noise

Wondering can anyone point me in the right direction for solving an annoying vibrating noise. I have a 130 sport tdi and in only 2nd and 3rd gear when accelerating around 2000rpm a get a raspy vibrating noise. tried searching here for similar posts and looked for the boost pipe vibrating etc. heard the gear linkage may be vibrating because it sounds like its in that area.

Are you *sure* it's not the boost pipe vibrating ?

When you look in the engine bay it might not look close to the fuel filter housing, but the engine moves further than you realise, causing contact. Only way to be sure is stick foam around either the pipe or filter housing and see if the noise goes away.

A *lot* of PD130 owners have had this problem.

didn't look that close, about 20mm or so away from it but i get what u mean. i'll try the foam idea to to rule that out. cheers.

Perhaps could be whats doing my head in... Seatbelt release button clattering away during driving! ARGH!! so annoyin I fasten passenger seatbelt to shut it up!

thanks tasty kebab. most of my cars i had so far the seat belt release button rattled but i wish this was as easy to fix. lol plus this is much more annoying.
